Women cell is fully dedicated to address the gender based issues and discrimination of the women, especially in the work place. Ragging is a criminal act. Indian penal code has declared ragging as a crime and has provision of punishment. The University Grants Commission has reiterated the ban on ragging students in Institutions of Higher Education.

What is Ragging? Display of noisy, disorderly conduct, teasing, excitement by rough or rude treatment or handling, including rowdy, undisciplined activities which cause or likely to cause annoyance, undue hardship, physical or psychological harm or raise apprehensive fear in a fresher, or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such a student will not do in the ordinary course and which causes him/her shame or embarrassment or danger to his/her life, etc.

Shaildevi Mahavidyalaya has formed an Anti Ragging Committee to provide a safe, anti ragging environment and protect students from the ragging.

Objective:

1. Provide a safe and anti ragging environment to the newly admitted students.

2. To inform students regarding legal and social aspect of the ragging and make them conscious to not participate in activity of ragging.

3. Develop a cordial and friendly relation between senior and junior students.

Discipline cell is establishes with the aim of maintaining discipline, dignity and decorum in the campus; and build a decent image of the institute. Cell guide the students to follow rules and regulation made by college administration; and motivate students to be discipline and responsible. The cell control and manage any indiscipline and inappropriate activity within the campus and take appropriate disciplinary action as per the requirement. To restrict the inappropriate activity in the campus and enforce the discipline in the students cell follow the guideline issues by the UGC/AICTE guideline and take the action accordingly.

4. Discipline committee make sure that no cigarette, pouch or any toxic material is available and used in the campus.

5. Discipline committee insures that proper decorum is maintain in the class rooms, cafeteria, library, sports ground etc.

6. In case of any misuse or damage of the college property, discipline committee will address the issue and take appropriate action.

7. Committee will take care all the discipline related issues in the campus such as dress code, timing, misbehavior etc.

Grievance Redressal Committee is an essential part of academic administration. Shaildevi Mahavidyalaya formed grievance redressal committee as per the UGC guidelines to redress the grievances of both the staff and the students. This committee is responsible to provide secure and healthy environment in the college campus. In case of any grievances in the college campus; committee will address the issue and take appropriate action depending on the gravity of the issue.

Objective:

1. Arrange a proper drop box and contact number to collect the complaint.

2. Address the complaint from the students, within the time limit.

3. Collect the feedback from the student after resolving the issue.

4. Maintain the privacy of the issues and complaint.

5. To maintain the peaceful environment in the campus, motivate students to raise the issues to resolve it.

6. Convince the students to resolve the issues in democratic and peaceful manner and avoid any type of violence.

The current social scenario, misuse of internet, anarchy and low morality is becoming reason of huge number of sexual harassment cases.
